Obscure Designs Posted November 10, 2015 Report Share Posted November 10, 2015 My name is James. Originally I'm from Mississippi but now live in the PNW. I'm a newbie to wood working. I built small shelves. Then large shelves. Then a cat tree house. After 15 years of not being able to find a dining table we liked, I decided to build one. With a circular saw and a drill, I build a 4x7 table made from fir bought from HD. I beat it and distressed it and made it look old. Some friends liked it and asked me to build one for them. Then another couple. Then a coffee table. All of a sudden I'm building furniture, now using mostly reclaimed lumber. I've watched almost every youtube video to learn and grow. Starting woodworking at age 46 is a new adventure and I'm wondering if I can make any money at it or if it's just another hobby.
