cruiten
Long story short: I inherited an older Grizzly 6" jointer from a good friend and I need some help in identifying which model it is so that I can purchase new blades to replace the old, rusty and chipped blades. I have looked inside the case and I am not able to find any type of label or tag that properly identifies what model the jointer is. The table is 46 3/4" long and the jointer has three 6" blades. The closest current Grizzly jointer models that I could find are the G0654 and the G0452, both of which take the H9876 replacement blades. Hopefully the attached pictures will help. Thanks in advance, Cor
Keggers
I don't know what the model is but you might give Grizzly technical support a call at 1- 570-546-9663. I bet they can help you with the identification.
mikem
+1 on calling Grizzly. If I had to guess, the current knives available will work on your jointer.

cruiten
It looks like the G1182 http://www.grizzly.com/outlet/6-X-47-JOINTER/G1182 That is it!!! Thank you very much for your help. I will order the knives (#G6697) and the knife setting gauge (#PG1182216) when I get home later tonight. I wonder if I should replace anything else on the G1182 since it has been sitting around for many years...
Keggers
You might check the belts to make sure they don't have dry rot or are stretched.
cruiten
You might check the belts to make sure they don't have dry rot or are stretched. Good point, I will check that later today along with a quick check of the cutter-head bearings...
knotscott
It looks like the G1182 http://www.grizzly.com/outlet/6-X-47-JOINTER/G1182 Definitely a G1182. Bought my G1182"HW" new in 2001, and it's been flawless ever since. It rolled from the same Geetech factory in Taiwan as the Sunhill, GI, Jet, Bridgewood, Woodtek and others of that era. DC Dyar
Just ran across this post. I have one that appears identical, except the green plastic label on mine says "86J6-065". I believe based on what the founder said in his history video that the 86 stands for 1986, J6 for a 6" jointer, and 065 is the number of units of that type sold. Hope this helps someone in the future.
