Juicegoose
Finally got fed up with the junky task force circ saw I had been working with and went out and bought a Milwaukee circ saw. Haven't cut wood with it yet but just holding the saw you can tell it's of a better quality. One thing that I've noticed about milwaukee is that they love making you pay for simple things other companies offer as standard. In this case it's the edge guide, now will I use it, probably not, but it sure would have been nice had they thrown it in!!
Dyami Plotke
Having used circular saws for over a decade, I don't think I've ever used the edge guide. I'd say no need to buy it. What I would recommend though is a homemade zero clearance track. It'll make beautiful straight cuts a no brainer.
Juicegoose
oh ya I very early realized the potential of a well made track. I ended up buying the Woodcraft trac/clamp and bases that slide into the track. They work beyond great and mke those straight cuts your talking about a no brainer for sure.
