Popular Post Rex Edgar
Been out of town for a while. Looking at Christmas gifts.....I recently posted a review on the Incra Ibox jig. I found it difficult and finally built a 1/2" jig of my own. I don't want to get in a match with those who posted favorable reviews and are happy with the Incra jig. I just want to post an alternative. The jig was fairly straight forward and simple to dial in with the Freud dado stack with shims. When I say "dial in", it sounds easier than it is. It consists of many test cuts in scrap wood and adding shims and dry fitting the pieces. If you are doing longer runs, I recommend not stopping when you have four or five box joints because if there is an error it may not show up until there are many fingers and openings. So here is a box and the jig that I used to make the box.
