gardnesd
my wife wants to be able to slide our printer out of a face framed cabinet. I was thinking of maybe using a bottom center mounted drawer slide. Any other recommendations?
Mike M
I would use full extension ball bearing slides mounted vertically. This would mean adding filler blocks to bring the side wall of the cabinet flush with the edge of the face frame. The shelf would also need vertical cleats on which to mount the slides. A center mount drawer slide doesn't have much strength in the vertical direction. It is primarily there to guide the drawer and keep it from binding. The slides I mentioned are typically rated for 100 lbs and should hold the printer easily
TBaiga
stowaway drawer slides (like for recycling drawers or laundry baskets). printers aren't heavy, but you do tend to put a lot of down force on them loading ink/toner cartridges, etc.
