Tobykanobe
I've pre-ordered the new and improved Kapex. I don't have any previous versions. I failed to read the fine print and didn't see that it comes with a hold fast. I ordered a hold fast, so now I'll have two on hand. My question is to those who have a Kapex now, any compelling reason to have two, or should I just return this one. As always, thanks! Mark J
I have two hold downs for my Makita SCM and use both whenever possible, but others don't use any hold downs at all.
..Kev
There are time when I'll use one. In the end, if the piece you're cutting is so warped that you feel you need 2, I'd be finding a different method to make the cut.

bglenden
My understanding is that using two holdfasts simultaneously is thought to promote binding/kickback - one side or the other should be free to fall away. (Seems plausible to me, but no personal experience since I don't do this).
