Nick2cd
Has anyone mounted a router into the side extension table on their sawstop? How did you go about doing this? has it worked well for you? seems like the ability to use the existing fence would be a really nice feature. Vic
Nick, is it that much different from a standard cabinet saw? I think it was Russ that has a really sweet set up. I'll try to check later.
rmac
Not me. My router is in my outfeed table (and my saw doesn't skip a beat when you touch the blade with a hot dog). You're probably thinking of Paul-Marcel's setup. Look here for all his SawStop-related mods. -- Russ
Gerry
Russ, Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that! I have an out-feed table attached to the back of my saw (not a SawStop), built as a fold down option. The only time I've lowered the table is to move the saw. ( never) Darn! Now I have more stuff to build for the shop!
rmac
Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that! Well, thanks Gerry, but it wasn't my idea either. I saw it somewhere on the Internet, I'm sure. But it has worked well for me, mostly because it gave me an excuse to make the router table much bigger than I would have otherwise. For what it's worth, there's a picture of my setup in the third or fourth post of this thread, and an article about how I made the top flat here. -- Russ

Vic
No doubt, Nick. I'd just steal his design outright! It's ingenious!
