oldman_pottering
I have an older bandsaw ( Toolmac ) that needs the tyres replacing. have found a couple of places here ( in AU ) that supply the Carter urethane tyres listed only by wheel diameter. I have found an American site on Ebay called the Bandsaw Tire Warehouse with an extensive range listed by make and model of saw. Is it necessary to buy tyres by make and model or is it fine to buy according to wheel diameter Thanks Geoff Edited December 3, 2021 by oldman_woodworker Punctuation
Coop
With no firm knowledge but I would think that at least the width of the wheel, as well as the diameter, should be a consideration.
Mark J
@oldman_woodworker, I'm not an expert, either, but it would seem to me that the diameter and width of the tire (metric vs imperial) are the only considerations. I know that some bandsaws have a flat wheel (EU) and others are crowned (US), but I think that is the wheel, not the tire. You might find more info here, or be able to pose the question: https://bandsawlife.com/
