I love trying new techniques, but not when I start making hazardous waste. I used to have to deal with that kind of stuff when I was doing photography. I'm so glad it's all digital now. mattvan Posted September 4, 2010 Report Share Posted September 4, 2010 I really like the idea of molasses as a rust remover, but it takes its sweet time to work (pun intended). Boeshield's rust free has never let me down but the nose hairs I've lost from it's smell are a great reminder it's not for use in the basement workshop. Still, it's worked fast and good everytime. I've always thought the worst part of rust removal was getting the surface rust off and discovering all the little pox marks it's left in the body.
