Cobwobbler
So I needed a stool for my shed and decided to use some reclaimed wood I'd got from an old pallet. I'd recently come across a reference to the "Golden ratio" in a box building book and decided to use the ratios to determine the size of the stool, based on three pallet planks to give me the width. It only took a few hours to knock up, as it's only for the shed, but I was wondering what the collective wisdom thought of the ratios and if anyone else had built stuff to the same ratios? dcustoms
As the "Golden Ratio" promises the proportions are pleasing to the eye. I normally use the ratio in the initial design phase to establish a base line for my proportions. However, I have found that some times it is better to just start drawing it how it looks best to you. It is just one of those things that if it is your design how wrong could it be.
