baok
I bought this on a whim. So far I think it's great. And I swear this is true: I was considering getting rid of my larger power tools and going in for the hand tools before I bought the book. jmaichel
I agree the book is great. He does not preach the all hand tool method, in fact I think he used power tools when he built his chest. The message was that you can build almost any furniture with tools that were part of the tool list. He covers power tools in his book, albeit a small part of the book but he does make mention of power tools. He seems to use power tools in a more utilitarian method rather than just for the sake of having power tools.
Hans_Christopher
Indeed it is a great book. Read it cover to cover in about two days. Having just made the move to all hand tools for making furniture I love that he provides a list of tools you should. I plan on spending the next couple months slowly working my way through the list. Cheers
duckkisser
afraid i dont have the patience for hand tools. when i saw it frustraits me to spend that much time and energy when a band saw works faster and almost as strait.
