ChetlovesMer
My beautiful wife commissioned a set of very large cabinets for garage storage from me. Here’s what I came up with. The bride was very pleased. You know what they say “Happy wife = Happy life!” The cabinet in the back of the garage has 24” deep shelves. The cabinet on the side wall is only 18” deep. That empty section on the right of the rear cabinet is where all the Christmas decorations are destined to be stored. Sorry about the photo quality. I took those with my phone. PeteJr
Nice work! Here's my version. They are 36" deep, 12 feet wide and 10 feet floor to ceiling.
ChetlovesMer
Nice, those look very robust. I see you boxed in the bottom. Can you tell me what led to that decision and did it work out well? Right now our plan is to store the snow-blower/lawn mower (depending on the time of year, the generator, and the stroller under there. Boxing it in seems like it would make it harder to get those things out. What is your experience?
ChetlovesMer
By the way, this is my second run at garage storage. Here are a couple of shots of the cabinets I built for my wife in the garage we had in the old house. I built these about 12 years ago. My wife was also happy with these.
tim0625
I WISH our Christmas decorations would fit in your cabinet!! My wife has about 15 - 18Gal Totes labeled and stored in the attic. Nice pieces Chet....don't you just love it though when the bride commissions things?!?!?

So far I've been very pleased and the because the doors slide they do not limit my access.
wdwerker
I just built a sliding door cabinet for a client. Haven't downloaded the pics off the camera yet but thought I would share my source for tracks, wheels etc. They have good prices, ship quickly, huge selection and have treated me well for years. http://jhusa.net/111sd.aspx I used some of the heavy duty versions for a Murphy bed project with sliding bookcases to conceal it. 2 sets of tracks per bookcase, you could stand on the bottom shelf and ride it ! It's on my website if anyone's curious.
wouldwurker
Looking at the first pic, I had just assumed those were regular sized cabinets next to miniature bikes and kid-sized push toys. Then I saw them next to the garage door! Cool work Chet...I'm sure it took you all of 4 hours
