JohnB
I'm John, got my start in woodworking by building a frame for an extremely large poster to put on my first apartment wall after college. A long dry spell spent sailing, golfing, etc ensued and then I went "all in" about 7 years ago while building book cases and cabinets for our house. Since then it's been furniture, finish carpentry, and odds and ends for ourselves and others. Hand tools are now a passion and most of the stuff I make uses reclaimed material like the tables below (cherry milled from a storm fallen tree, second table made from old T&G porch flooring for the legs, boards from and old barn door for the aprons and walnut from a toppled tree saved by a friend for the top). I sell a few pieces, give a few away, and it's mostly about enjoying the creative process. My brother has also become a woodworker and we are now able to enjoy a mutual hobby, something we haven't done in at least 35 years. I live in Virginia.
