Steve Lyde
I have a Rikon 70-050vs mini lathe with a noise that sounds like a bad bearing in the head stock. Rikon sent me a new bearing but I'm not seeing what all has to come off to change this bearing. It looks to me like you would have to disassemble the head stock to even replace the belt so I wouldn't think it would be this difficult to get down to the bearings. Anyone have any advice? duckkisser
i just took mine apart got the same problem. mine is a delta 46-460 but they might be very similar. there is a screw in the belt pully system that you loosen up its just a set screw. take off the head stocks crank wheel . then their is a piece called a spindle its what the entire pully system is mounted too just pop that through. on mine the bearing just pops out ofter the spindle is taken out.
