AMarshall
Hi guys, Aaron here. Like many of you, I came to woodworking through home improvement. I've been hacking away for about 10 years, but my wife and I bought a house in an older downtown neighborhood in Atlanta about 5 years ago and now it seems like the house projects never stop. Plenty of built-ins and trim are still on the to-do list. Along the way I've been upgrading my small shop in our large one car garage. It would be a larger space if I wasn't stubbornly trying to park a 1957 Buick in there I suppose. The good new about the house is that I am about a 5 minute walk from Highland Woodworking, so it's easy to turn a morning stroll into a new tool purchase! As for woodworking, most "non woodworker" folks I know think I really know what I'm doing, but of course I know the truth. I've read and studied books, magazines, and all the TWW sites way beyond my actual hands on experience. I'm guilty of overplanning projects, and I'm trying to become more about getting into the shop and making sawdust. There are some benefits to thorough planning - I've become pretty good at SketchUp (if I do say so myself) and have enjoyed helping out with models for TWW. Looking forward to the new forum and catching up with everybody!
