rubus
Hey folks, I just purchased a general floor model spindle sander and had to transport the unit on its side only to realize the oil spilled everywhere. Argh... I assume everything should be ok once i replenish the oil but the manual does not state how much and what kind of oil is best. Anybody in the know? Thanks
Jfitz
I don't know about the 'how much' but any 80W or 90W gear oil should work. Have you contacted General customer service?
minorhero
I second calling general customer service. Some of these sanders will have bronze gears which can be damaged by certain motor oils.
CT Proctor
I would call General too but our Jet uses SAE 90 gear lube.
