Eric. Posted July 5, 2015 Report Share Posted July 5, 2015 The amount of movement in that one center piece will be so minimal that it shouldn't have much effect. It's probably not ideal engineering, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. You run into problems when you restrict large panels that need to move significant amounts...we're talking about 6" or so of material in that center board...it won't move more than 1/8" in either direction. You may see some minor bowing in the cross pieces in the summer, or gaps in the winter, but I think it's structurally sound...enough. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
