miranthis
I picked up about 30 bd ft of white oak from a guy that was downsizing. They were left overs from a cabinet he built. it has been stored in a finished basement and is in good shape. A couple of the ends have split a few inches over the years. Boards are 6 - 8 ft in length. Should I just store it until I use it (cutting the bad ends out later), or should I cut out the couple of split ends now, before I store it?Jeff in KC
wtnhighlander
Personally, I would leave it until ready to use.

Andy Wright
i agree - don't do anything to it until you are ready to use it. Over time, wood settles into a "stable state", once you start cutting or milling the process starts over
