BorkBob
While in the process of setting up a new shop, I had to do without my overhead blade guard. I did not like using the saw without it. I wondered if the BORK ( www.theborkstore.com ) could be modified to support a guard. The answer was light-weight polycarbonate (Lexan). I learned how to heat form it and I'm very happy with the result. Cut thickness is limited to about 2.25" and the BBG must be removed for non-thru cuts. It can be left in place for the vast majority of your saw cuts. Ripping 4/4 stock: Ripping a 2x4 I'm calling it the BBG (BORK Blade Guard). If you are using a BORK with the black adjustment screws, the BBG will be a plug and play addition. Full-kerf (.100") and thin-kerf (080") versions are available. The thin-kerf model will work with all saw blades. Introductory pricing (includes shipping) is: BBG for current BORK users: $50 BBG with BORK arm for attaching to saw (includes a complimentary BORK splitter blade): $150 I do not have the web store set up with pricing yet. Please contact me directly for PayPal, check or MO payment instructions. Thanks for looking and let's be safe out there. Bob Ross Please pray for our troops. Semper Fi !! Lawrence Brown
Nice job on the plastic forming. The whole thing is minimalist, but provides at least some basic protection where it's need most, and it definitely better than what most of us do, which is nothing.
