Grain Guy
I am drawing a round Queen Anne dining table. The apron is also going to be round inset a few inches. How do I draw a scalloped apron in the round?
Chris H
Sorry for the delay getting this posted. You essentially need three circles. In the posted example, I made the table top 24" in Diameter, the next circle is the outside of the apron, I did at 23" diameter, and then the final circle is at 22.25" diameter. The select the middle of the last circle, and delete it. This leaves the perimeter line, but not the center. This made for an apron that 3/4" thick, 1" recessed from the table top edge. Grain Guy
Thanks for the response. I have a table and apron drawn. What I'd like to figure out is how to make the under side of the apron wave up and down. The only thing I can think of is to draw some other convex and concave shapes and intersect them into the apron. Once I decide on a nice layout for the "scalloping" on the apron, I want to figure the circumstance and make a 2d template to trace on the apron. I'm always open for ideas to make this process efficient.
