Pbmaster11
Two boxes. One oak and one Using sapele and have some gaps in my dovetails. Suggestion on a filler? And do I put on before or after finishing?Typing on cell phone. I apologize for any typing errors.
Pwalter5110
Are the pins sanded flush? I have seen people wet the pins, and kind of squish the pins to fill the gaps. I wish I could find the video of it. Or remember who made the video. But they used a mallet and a punch, tapped on the corners of the pins, then sanded smooth. Trip
==>gaps in my dovetails. Suggestion on a filler? Rive some thin slivers from off-cuts the same width width as the pin/tail (slight taper is best --- making a wedge). With a small amount of glue, tap the wedge into the gap until it bottoms-out. Score the wedge at the line of the pins/tails, snap-off and sand flush while the glue is still wet... Invisible repair. No filling required.
