wouldwurker Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 A short story, which is usually a good thing when it comes to customer service. Just bought the Laguna 1412 Bandsaw. The Vertical Height adjustment wheel appeared to not have been polished after it was cast (lots of jagged metal edges). Called Laguna - the first person I talked to was happy to help. E-mailed them 2 pics Immediate response back to me via e-mail. Next day received the shipping notice of my new part. This kind of thing goes a long way with me, and I like to share a nice story when it happens. Quote
bgreenb Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 That's awesome Vinny. I've always said that when companies have minor screw ups like this, it's an opportunity to gain a customer for life with the proper response. More importantly, how is the saw? I'm gonna be in the market for a new bandsaw in the next year or so, and the 1412 is high on my list. My only hesitation is that I'm a "go big or go home" kind of guy and I'm a bit worried about the power versus going with a bigger 3HP grizzly unit or something. Love to hear your thoughts once you've had a chance to play with the saw a bit. Quote
wouldwurker Posted March 11, 2015 Author Report Posted March 11, 2015 I've only gotten as far as putting it together... Lots of guys on the forum own it, and recommended it to me. Regarding power, it does give you the option to wire 220... Sorry I can't tell you more. It's my first real bandsaw, so I wouldn't be much help anyway. Quote
AstroDave Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 That's good to hear Vinny.. I also have the 1412. Also my first bandsaw as well so the power issue is an unknown to me. Quote

They were very apologetic and sent me a driftmaster fence for free. Unfortunately that arrived banged up as well. They replaced my bent and gouged throat plate and the new one arrived worse than the first. Customer service is great and so far (still getting it tuned up) the saw is a smooth beast. Not sure i would pay top dollar for laguna again as it was the only tool i have ever received in that condition but i have zero complaints in regards to their after sales service. They just need to tighten up quality control in China. Quote
Ryan Grondin Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 I have the same band saw amd love it. I had a part on it that was damaged, they sent me a new one without question, with all the horror stories about their customer service, I think they've stepped it up a bunch. Quote
