Doomwolf
I just finished a piece with a GF gel stain, and I plan on putting a couple (thin) coats of GF gel top coat on once the stain is dry. Should I be wet sanding the gel stain before I put the top coat on, and if so, what should I be using as lubricant? If it helps, it is a small bookcase from QSWO. JerrySats
if the gel stains raised the gain you need to give it a light sanding maybe with 320 -400 . Make sure when you use the gel top coat you even the layers out , its doesn't flatten out very well . You could probably wipe it on with a rag ( clean t shirt) just make sure you get the runs . Doomwolf
I'm still new at the finishing-thing and wasn't sure if I'm supposed to sand between coats (as a clear coat will go over this for protection)
