mds2
I have a little cnc machine that I mess around with a little bit, but a couple days ago a friend showed this to me. It is essentially a handheld cnc router. This thing has some almost endless possibilities. Imagine routing a perfectly round hole, or a straight line, or cutting out a pattern without needing to setup any sort of guides or stops or jigs or whatever. The technology is now here. Scroll down a little in the link to check out the video. http://shapertools.com/

Tom Cancelleri
I saw that a few months ago when they demonstrated it at the maker fair, it was all over the net I wanna say in April/May. It's interesting to say the least, but it doesn't seem like something to be too excited about yet. I do see it as a cool item for doing huge intricate things that wouldn't fit on a conventional CNC. wtnhighlander
The more high-tech the tools become, the more I feel like going total neanderthal. That thing looks like a giant headache to me, no matter how cool.
