wouldwurker
On on Marc's video with the David Marks shop tour, David Marks' end vice is housed in wood...so it pretty much looks built into the bench. Minute 1.00 http://youtu.be/Ch8SFQJsR2E I haven't seen this before, and from what I can tell, it looks like it can be done with any high quality end vice. His looks pretty similar to my Eclipse. Also, it's super cool. Has anyone ever tried this or seen plans on how to do it? Thanks VJJ

wdwerker
I mounted my vise like that. Only thing I did different was use 8/4 soft maple for the vice jaw but didn't add the ears like David did. I drilled for round bench dogs. If you crank down hard with a piece off centered the jaw will skew. I combat this with a stack of 1/4" MDF rectangles bolted so it can swivel. You just fold enough pieces 90 degrees to get close to the thickness of the part being clamped.
sjeff70
You get a leg vise and an end vise in 1 vise. Simple. I look forward to more replies...
