Vic
I have been looking online for wood. It says "hit/miss" planned. What does this mean? Do you possibly mean hit/miss planed? That could possibly mean skip planing. It means it's been run through a planer but not until it is a uniform width, just to get it somewhat flat. mikem
This is what I typically buy when getting rough saw lumber. Since I don't have a very good jointer, this works well for me. Also, a note is that this typically 15/16 rather than true 4/4. I have always been able to get the material down to 3/4 without any issue. Gregory Paolini
I have been looking online for wood. It says "hit/miss" planned. What does this mean? Hit and miss is simply a board that is partially planned. They'll run it through a planer enough to make it reasonably flat, and expose figure, but not so much that it starts to have a big effect on thickness.
