Felder / SCM Dust Collection

Recommended Posts

So I've been digging into dust collectors more and have really started liking what I see with the Felder and SCM dust collection systems. I guess these would be "Euro" style (or maybe industrial) rather than the cyclones we often see in the states.

Felder lists Max and Nominal air flows, along with a static pressure. Does anyone know what these actually mean ? They dont provide fan curves.

I don’t have any experience with Felder’s DC systems other than what I’ve read as a member of the FOG. Guys don’t have many positive things to say about them. I haven’t looked into it much, but I don’t think those systems have great separation. Instead, they rely more on an automatic filter cleaning mechanism. Also, how much are the RL200 and 250? I think they are signficantly more than a clearvue or oneida cyclones. From a value standpoint, I think it’s difficult to beat any of the NA cyclones. A 5hp cyclone with somewhat clean filters will handle just about anything most of us will throw at it.
