Chestnut
@treeslayer Sorry, well not sorry. I liked the idea of before and after pictures of some of the stuff we've made so i took your idea and started the thread. Hope you can forgive me for being hasty. As soon as I saw this idea i wanted to run with it because i thought it would be intersting. I devote this thread to the idea given to me for people to share pictures of stuff they have made when it's freshly finished and a year or 20 after it's been used and has had some good time to change color. First piece is a one of a pair of booksehfl speakers i made. The woods are Maple Jatoba and walnut. Love the aged look of the Jatoba the red brown is very dark and rich. Finish is Lacquor. Next is the networking stand i made out of walnut and cherry. This one isn't very old and isn't in a spot that gets a lot of sunlight so the change is pretty subtle. The sapwood does give a good white balance. Going back 2 years to the TV stand i made. This change looks like a lot more in person than the images convey. Aged it looks like there are 3 different shades of cherry and it kind of looks that way in person too but fresh it did not look that way. Finally we have the benches i made for my dining room table. I made them out of Choke cherry. The color change looks a lot more substantial in person but this gets the idea across.
