Dust collection 2.0

I picked up a dust collector blower cheap at an auction. Step 2 is to add a cyclone to it. But the little Dust Deputy seems too small for a 1HP blower.
Other than building is there another option besides the Super Dust Deputy, something under $100? I'll be building a frame on my cart for, yes, rolling it around.

I've been looking at this as well. My conclusion is probably going to be to buy the 4" Super dust deputy, but it seemed like the next best option is building a Thien baffle. I'm a bit torn, and may still go that route for space reasons. The trash can separators seem like they only work for chips, not really with dust. I'm also intending to put on a HEPA cartridge filter, so that's my main motivation for wanting a separator in the first place.

I also think that 4 inch DD will give you the best results w/ a1 HP machine , It's a shame its only sold in combination  with that fiber barrel.  Take those dimensions and build one , rather than a thien baffle . Might be worth a try.

You could also use a Thien design separator. I use one with a 2 HP motor that sends very little dust to the output filter. It is also a lot easier to have it made into something that can roll around then a cyclone which is tall.

I use to run it with what was considered a 1 HP blower, but I don't think that it really was -- but it does work. Mine is sitting on a metal garbage can.
