Martin-IT
Kutzall has the Original and the Extreme Shaping disc. Anyone with experience with any of them ? or with a similar product ? a preference ?
Chet
I have used this brand Holey Galahad See Through Round Medium The see through feature is really nice. I have only used the medium but if I were t buy others I would go with the same brand.
wtnhighlander
I have a Kutzall original. Hogs away material with reasonable speed, but still easy to control. The see-thru feature Chet mentioned would be rather handy.
croessler
I own and have used the brand Chet mentioned in both medium and fine. The only thing I will add is to be aware that they can clog if it is a resinous wood you are shaping.

Yes they can and according to the companies info, the best way t glean it is with heat from a propane or MAPP gas torch.
wtnhighlander
Those crepe rubber blocks for cleaning sanding belts work, as long as you don't leave the resin to set up for a long period.
wdwerker
Also try keeping your crepe rubber block in the freezer. It cleans hot resins better and wears away slower.

wdwerker
I always keep 2 crepe rubber blocks in the shop freezer. When the one I have out in use thaws I just switch to the frozen one. Maybe keeping them in a big ziplock freezer bag will appease the lady of the house if you don't have a shop fridge.
