tperson
The girls had a little accident last night when they were painting their nails, they spilled the remover on our floors. I have to give them credit, they tried to clean it up with a towel and then with a wet washcloth before they panicked and told me. Initially, I thought that the white in the picture was blush and would dissipate overnight…not so much, the picture is from this morning. It appears that the polyurethane finish on the wood is undamaged and that the white is (maybe?) from the wax. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I ground my heel this morning in stocking feet and it looked like it was slightly better…any chance it just needs a good hard scrub and re-waxed? Thanks in advance for your wisdom.
Popular Post gee-dub
Some nail polish removers contain naphtha which cuts through a lot of things. Since they were quick to wipe it up it may not have gone all the way through the film finish if present. I would scrub gently but diligently with a blue (for teflon) dish scrubber if you have one. Use a mild soap; Murphy's Oil Soap if you have it. If you have good success you can switch to a milder abrasive ending up with a brown paper bag (or Novus if you have it) to try to polish the area and blend it in. If you get what you're after, re-wax and be happy.
