duckkisser
ok i was wondering if anyone had ever cut up a lilac bush into wood for a project. i know not big enough for a board but thought maybe for a carving or handles or some kind of turned project. how well does it machine? how well does it finish, is there tear out? does it tend to split? poor strength? is the wood porus or solid let me know as im probably doing to cut a part of stem off to make a block for our identification board in the classroom
Darnell Hagen
I've never used it myself, but I've seen pens made of it. It has some pretty vivid colour.
duckkisser
i just found out that you can burn it with fish so that you can have a slight flowery taste
HoboMonk
Ok, so, well, basically - I've used old lilac bush wood in small projects. It can be stunning.
