Woodworker II on a dewalt saw

Should be okay on most 4/4. You'll probably run into some trouble with any of the harder woods thicker than that. I had the Dewalt for a while and it would occasionally bog down in even 8/4 pine with a thin kerf rip blade. Adding a splitter might help a little, but it's just not a very powerful machine. Forrest sells the WW in thin kerf, too...I might consider it for that saw.

I don't recall DeWalt having a true contractor saw, so just for clarification do you mean a portable jobsite saw like the DW744 or DW745, or are we talking about a full size saw like the DW746 hybrid?

The 746 would spin a full kerf pretty well in all but very thick ripping, but the smaller saws might struggle a bit more depending on the thickness and density of the wood. The portables generally have an easier time spinning thin kerf blades.
