Pwk5017
About to finish up some plugs and drive some screws when I added the seat slats and noticed a problem. Somehow I goofed and didnt follow the plans/video properly and cut the opposite angle in my front apron. Hopefully my sketch makes sense, but the top of the apron should slope from front to back and mine slopes back to front. Best way to correct this? Im thinking I can rip it to square, glue on a thin strip on top, and re-rip the correct angle. Question then becomes same wood or contrasting accent? mkrusen
Unless the back side of the apron is super ugly and you were hiding it, then I'd do like Shaffer said and flip it around. Gorgeous chair by the way.
Pwk5017
I did exactly what shaffer suggested. Ripped 1/16-1/8" strip off to separate the angled section. I flipped the angled section so it was in the correct orientation and reglued. I will see what it looks like tonight when i get home and take it out of the clamps. You cant just flip the apron on this one, because of the sloped grooves on the front. BTW, this is the stock image from the guild build of marc's chair. hopefully mine look as good, but they will be cherry and aromatic cedar. I dont have the chairs complete, so i needed a way to illustrate my issue to you all.
