My name is John, I'm from Ione CA USA

My dad taught me to woodwork in high school (almost 30 years ago), I am trying to get back into it; but I'm having a problem.

I'm not advanced enough to draw my own plans, and I can't seem to find a simple bedframe plan (that my wife will like). She likes the headboard from woodsmith magazine #145, but I need the whole frame!  Can anyone help?

I'm not sure what the headboard from Woodsmith #145 looks like, but I think that you should build one at full scale, and one scaled down in height to whatever looks right (probably 40-70 percent).  Attach the bed rails with knock-down hardware (bed hooks are simple and effective.  If you use a box spring, you need only a wooden cleat on the inside of the rails to support the bed.  Otherwise, use a series of wooden slats across the wooden cleats to support the mattress.
