Rick A McQuay
Fairly hard stuff when dried.
croessler
Hey duck, I have turned Jatoba on a few occasions. It is really hard when dried but doesn't tear out like Cherry. If your tools stay nice and sharp you shouldn't have any issues. It also polishes up to a really nice sheen after you finish sand.
Ozwald
I turn jatoba all the time. It's wonderful stuff. It's pretty hard though, so keep a good edge on your chisels. It finishes extremely smooth.
