wouldwurker
This was my first real shot at plywood casework. The domino really does make life 1 million times easier. All of it is three-quarter ply. The two shelves are Baltic Birch ply, since that is the only end grain that won't be trimmed out. I used an old version of sketchup for the design: Brought it upstairs and dry fit. It'll serve well pragmatically while I design the hardwood trim, drawer, and cabinet detail. Paint is inevitable so it'll likely be poplar. I can certainly now see the benefits of a track saw system as breaking down sheet goods can be a bit unwieldy by myself, even with the cabinet saw, and some rough breakdown work with the circular saw. TerryMcK
I like that version of Sketchup. It looks to be a good project.
Coop
Vinn, I've seen them in your pic's before. Not being nosy, but what are the labeled drawers used for? Unusual labeling!

wouldwurker
Oooohhhh. Those. I bought them at an estate sale, $600 plus 2 meatball subs for the pair delivered (deal was, his 2 kids would move them for me and I'd buy them lunch on the way home). They came from an auto parts shop. And they are heavy duty as all hell, as they mostly held metal hardware. As for the labels I have no idea ...they were already on the drawers. Problem I have now I can't move the darn things. Each system has to weigh 800 pounds!
wouldwurker
I've been hacking away at Sketchup for a few weeks, working on the hardwood trim for this casework. I used dark material to show the contrast between the ply and hardwood, but the whole thing will be most likely painted, so it'll likely be poplar. On it's face, do I have any major issues here? I used thicker material for the horizontal top and bottom pieces for a bit of reveal. Thanks --VJ
