Bobby Slack
I am helping out a friend and making some picture frames with reclaimed wood .... nightmare. The frames are mitred and using dominos. The reference is from the front so if the backs are not flush is ok I wanted to have a couple of hand cut old time staples. Do they exist? Where would I get such a thing? Muchas gracias
wtnhighlander
"old-time", as in wire fencing staples? Those should be available anywhere that sells wire fencing - Tractor Supply, Farmer's Co-op, hardware stores. Maybe you meant something else? Bobby Slack
Thanks for your reply. I am looking to staple the mitre joint and I was wondering since we can find cut nails, may be we can find cut staples to bring the joint together. "old-time", as in wire fencing staples? Dave H
Why not splines with a spline jig on the tablesaw http://www.woodmagazine.com/woodworking-plans/jigs/spline-jig--miter-joint/

ResidentEvil
Why not splines with a spline jig on the tablesaw http://www.woodmagazine.com/woodworking-plans/jigs/spline-jig--miter-joint/ I'm assuming that, since he is using domino's already, that the staples are more decorative than structural. wdwerker
Pinch dogs are metal staple like devices which will pull a joint together. Woodcraft sells them and I bet Highland does too.
