mn pete
Hey gang, Long time Wood Whisperer fan, only my second post though. I sound like a caller into one of those talk radio shows...Long time listener, first time caller. I'm working on some Zebrawood boxes, based on a Doug Stowe design, and I'm hoping to get enough shop time this weekend to finish up the lids. This is a project that had been sitting in a box, after our move, for some time and I've just really started getting back into the swing of things. I chronicled the process up until now in a blog post (with lots of pictures!) if you'd like to take a look. http://secondwindworkshop.blogspot.com/2010/11/little-trip-back-in-time.html Pete
mn pete
Hey gang, I made some more progress on the boxes this weekend. The lids are now fitted for each box. Next up are some of the more decorative elements and the final sanding and finishing. Here's a pic and all the gory details at http://secondwindworkshop.blogspot.com/2010/11/put-lid-on-it.html Pete
jhl.verona
Looking good, Pete. Having planed a 45° bevel on some small pieces of wood (7/16") for my sled, this type of project really appeals to me. Keep posting the pictures, I'm bookmarking furiously. Seen Brian's boxes? He's a little lax in defining the categories of his blog posts, but here's a few: http://extremelyaverage.com/2010/09/no-more-fuzzy-feeling/ http://extremelyaverage.com/2010/09/my-tiny-box-method/ http://extremelyaverage.com/2010/11/charlies-new-adventure/ A box is a box is a box. Not necessarily. John

mn pete
Thanks John! I checked out Brian's boxes and blog, both are very cool! Pete
mn pete
Thanks Nate. It's been on and off for the last couple years. The day job and too many other interests can really spread you thin. The more I spent time in the shop the more I missed it, so I'm saying "no" to some other things now.
