mds2
I needed to make a whole bunch of lap joints for a project, and I wanted them all to be perfect. I had heard of a "kerfmaker" but never used one. I did a little searching around and came up with this idea. It is based off of a different jig I found online but I simplified it further. The way it works is you take a piece of wood and screw a screw into one end. You adjust the screw to stick out the same thickness as your table saw blade. Turn the screw "in" makes a looser joint, adjusting the screw "out" makes a tighter joint. It takes a little trial and error to get it correct, but once it is dialed in you dont need to do any adjustments. Here are a couple short videos showing how it works. TerryMcK
I read the title somewhat differently "Lap Dancing Joints" Then my mind dropped the Freudian word and I got back on track. Good videos
