Pwk5017
Used guide rail for sale in my area for a buck fifty. The price is right, so i feel almost compelled to buy the thing. I dont have an immediate need for the rail, but I have had two situations where the 75" rail wasnt long enough for a particular cut. In one instance, i had to start the saw with a plunge cut and make the 70" cut. The other situation forced me to make the cut in two shots. Both turned out well enough and it wasnt necessary for a perfectly straight cut anyways. By no means will I be using the 106" every weekend, but is it worth having around for $150? I have only had my 1400 and TS75 a few months, and certainly dont have a full grasp on all the possible situations I would want a long guide rail. I hate buying stuff that i dont see myself using very often, but that rail is so expensive ill never buy it new, never.
pkinneb
I use mine a fair amount because I cut all my sheet goods down with my track say laying on 2" insulation foam in my driveway. So to me I would say yay

I have the 3000 rail and paid close to 500$ for it. 150$ for the 2700, go get it quick. Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk

Pwk5017
Well, that was a real kick to the nads. Guy up and sold it to his dad. I cant fault him for it, but still. If your dad was going to buy the dang thing, why list it at all and get my hopes up? craigslist is a real fickle lover for me.
Tom Cancelleri
That happened to me with a veritas plane. Was getting ready to leave to go get it, guy says "oh sorry, I sold it to my son" Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Alan G
I have the 3000 and use it occasionally but I just cant find a convenient place or way to store it. How do you guys store yours? I dont have the ceiling height to store it vertically. Was thinking of hanging it horizontally with some additional center support. Currently it sits on top of lumber storage tucked up near the ceiling behind the overhead door rail.I love it but this storage thing is the issue. Was just going to get another 1400 or a 1900 and use the splices.

(The edge opposite of the splinter guard) Id make sure it fit snug betweem the bracket and the wall.
