Popular Post curlyoak
this was my starting point. I needed to make a cove about 4 1/2" high. The radius is the same as a 5 gallon bucket that I scribed on the end. Then I removed most of the wood on the table saw. Raising the blade after each cut. I did not take it all away as I needed the remainder in place until the bandsaw work was completed. First I sawed off the temporary edge. With my new convex plane I easily removed the needed wood, did the bandsaw work and sanding and scraping...

curlyoak
I had to think 4 steps ahead for ease of execution. And I needed to get tools. A rabbits on the back side of the base on a radius needed 3/4" depth of cut .A router bit. And the convex plane. I expect it will be years until I need that $120 plane again. So some of my pay is in tools. So it goes...The price of the tools do not take away the pleasure of the work!
curlyoak
There are 2 clocks. Presents from a close friend to his 2 grandsons. 5 and 7. They already got the cutouts. Actually they have a collection of cutouts. Better than blocks. And they always want more. They do not know what the cutouts are for. The clocks are xmas presents. Heirloom presents!
