Popular Post Coyote Jim
I somehow stumbled across this video. I'm at a bit of a loss. I have no idea why this video is so satisfying, but it is. As you will see it is the most overly complex stool I think anyone has ever made. And he was able to do it with a had saw, a plane blade, a chisel and a piece of rope. His "clamping" technique is so simple it hurts. Anyway, I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I did.
Tpt life
It’s rough. I don’t say that to be overly critical, but the clamping and wood selection work so that the pruning/limbing saw he’s using work ok. It’s a design you see often in bookstand form in more polished designs, that also don’t use more than a handsaw and chisels. I think sometimes that gets missed until you stumble on a project like this. You can build a lot with simple tools. We just tend these days toward enjoying the build rather than a long process. Just thoughts.
Dave H
That old boy is pretty slick! If he could build that with the simple tool set he had, imagine what he could accomplish with a shop full of tools. Yes the bench clamp was an interesting solution of "here can you hold this for a minute".
