Sauer and Steiner In Fill Planes

I'd love to own a Sauer and Steiner InFill smooth plane.

However, as you may know they are quite spendy.

Does anyone know if they still produce the kit?

If so where can I get one?

If not, is there somebody else out there who produces similar quality who makes a kit?

BTW - It is amazing how many people don't know what an infill plane is. I put infill plane into the search on ebay and scads of planes which are not infill showed up. ... I thought it odd.

Another kit option is St. James Bay Tool Co. http://www.stjamesbaytoolco.com/ Looks like there are many options, from parts to rough castings, to machined castings and full kits. Maybe not as elegant as Brese, but a little less pricey, too, for the full size smoothers. FWW did a review on the build a number of years ago.

Thanks, I've bookmarked this site as well.

One of these days I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a kit to build my own infill smoother.

Thanks again.

I doubt this guy does kits but, if you really want the Rolls-Royce of hand planes these are the business.

Take a look but be prepared to dig DEEP
