Popular Post Robby W
I have several good squares and a few not so good, but I never liked that the body of the square flopped down unless I hold it up or it happened to lay on the table. But when it did that, the ruler part doesn't lay flat. I know Woodpecker has a square with a little ledge that hooks in the material you are working on, but paying that much money slowed me down. I have always liked the way a speed square feels and works, but the cast squares don't seem as accurate as I would like. One day at Home Depot, I noticed the Empire True Blue square. It is shaped like a regular speed square and has all of the features, but it is machined from an aluminum extrusion. I bought both the 6" and 12" versions and love them. They checked out as accurate to the best square I have. The cost was less than $20 for the pair. They are keepers!

JohnG
I have a couple Empire combination squares. I forget what sizes they come in but I think they are 4” and 8” and they have been good. Mine are as square as my Starrett, PEC, and anything else I have. They don’t slide as smoothly as the nicer ones, but they aren’t too bad. I bought a 12” Empire combination square (before I got a 12” Starrett) and didn’t bother checking for square in-store since my others were spot on, big mistake. It was WAY off. Immortan D
I have the 12" triangle but it doesn't have the "true blue" logo, I guess it's an older model. It is blue, but not true .
