Ronn W
I just finshed an ebony and satin wood veneered box. I did a french polish finish all around. The shellac is curing now. I have never used wax on a project and wonder what advantages there are to using wax. Will it add a little protection against water and minor wear from occassional handling? Any other reason to wax or not wax over shellac?
wtnhighlander
Wax provides an 'adjustable' sheen, and a very nice feel. Aside from perhaps beading away water, I doubt it adds much protection.
