Popular Post Askland09
Nothing like waking up on a Saturday morning and having nothing to do but turn a little bowl. Made out of ash with a small Ogee curve. There's one stubborn area that still has a small tool mark that I couldn't get out but it is what it is. Cheers! The worm holes were a little annoying to deal with, tear out, couple big chunks here and there, but once I got a smooth cut with a 3/8" gouge I basically just left it alone.

It was a great Sunday bowl if you were a KC fan! @Askland09 nice bowl, I had a bunch of blanks of ash that set out under a porch semi protected from weather, except driving rain. there is a lot of driving rain in western Washington State so over a period of 5/6 years lots of spalting and worm holes, and a little on the punky side I also had trouble with tear out (frustrating to try making in to a usable bowl) I got 2 good ones out of 5 tries. Here was my best attempt lots of ca glue and lots of sanding to make this one for my daughter as a yarn bowl. I wish I was a better turner so I could have save more of those spalted blanks from the burn pile. I really like your bowl, I like the worm trails and the shape I appreciate the work that went into it. Thanks for sharing
