tape on glass

Is it necessary to replace the tape on glass after each coat of varnish ?

I assume that you are taping to keep the varnish off of the glass.  I usually reomve tape as soon as the varnish or paint has started to skin over.  If You did 2 or more coats, I would think that the first coat would get hard and might not allow the tape to be removed leaving a nice straight line.  Good luck.

I agree with Ronn or perhaps leave it and score the dividing lines with a razor before removing it.

No, it's not necessary to replace the tape after each coat of varnish. As long as the tape remains intact and doesn't interfere with subsequent coats, you can leave it in place. Just ensure it doesn't become saturated or affect the finish quality.
