jhaley
I’m building a dresser and am wondering how flat my parts need to be for my drawer boxes. My drawers will be inset with the fronts being 7.25” x 26” x ¾”. I’ll be dovetailing them to the sides using a jig. I jointed them up and they were dead flat when I laid them on my table saw, but after a few days they moved. Its not much but one corners tuned up by about 1/32. This is bugging me, but my gut tells me it’s fine.
thewoodwhisperer
I agree its probably fine. But always try to get your joinery cut immediately after milling to the final thickness. Otherwise you will almost always have some movement to contend with, making it harder to cut your joinery and no stock left to flatten things out again. At least if the joinery is cut, and you experience some movement, you can correct things to some extent using the joinery during the glueup. That'll be two cents.
