Renzo
It annoys me that the retail woodworking/tool stores in Ottawa (Lee Valley, Ottawa Fastener and Busy Bee Tools) aren't open on Sunday. It's also disappointing that both the lumber stores that carry a good selection of domestic and exotics (the wood source and KJP select hardwoods) also aren't open on Sunday. Sunday is when id like to hit these stores and spend some time browsing/shopping. Oh Well. Boo.
Frank Speyerer
Our local Rockler Woodworking Store here in Arlington, TX is open 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
PaulMarcel
Here in AZ, the retail stores are open (Woodcraft, Rockler, Home Depot ), but seems like none of the hardwood dealers are. Most of the dealers have banking hours and close promptly at 5 weekdays and no hours on the weekend. grrrr....
Renzo
Yeah unfortunately we don't have Rockler or Woodcraft and aren't even really able to order much from Amazon other than books, music and video games. You know i just might trade the "free" healthcare and high taxes because of it for more availability!
woodcanuck
Renzo...you got that right. The number of sundays I've wanted to drop into Lee Valley....sigh. That and the lumber mills I go to have lousy hours. Closed sundays, open till noon on saturdays. Oh well, at least I've got them.
jusfine
If they were open 7 days a week, I wouldn't spend any time in my shop...
mlehikoinen
There's been times that I've just forgotten that they close on Sunday only to drive up and realize that an empty parking lot is not a good sign. D'oh! It's happened more than once already!
joestyles
I don't mind. Lee Valley and Busy Bee are about a 7 hr drive away. The local store that handles most of my business is open on Sundays but that is a home hardware store The smaller lumber place locally owned and operated is where I go for hardwoods when I can afford it and they close Sundays but they would just be more expensive if they stayed open on Sundays. Darnell Hagen
I think it's commendable that a business respects their employees family lives.
Stephens_Shop
It's a damn shame that all we have on Sundays is Rona or Home Depot... not a good quality supplier of wood for sure. I am not 100% sure but I think Windsor Plywood in Burnaby is closed on Sunday as well, they have some variety of exotics and rough stock but they tend to be quite high in price.
